THE SEVEN MAIN ASPECTS OF GOD

First of all we must understand GOD is not a superior kind
of man. GOD is spirit and truth. This simply means to get a spiritual
understanding of his nature. To define GOD would be to limit Him, but we can
gain an excellent knowledge of GOD by discovering aspects of His nature.

1>   GOD IS LIFE

Where GOD is there is life.
Joy is one of the highest expressions of GOD as life. Actually, it is a mixture
of life and love. Realizing divine life heals all sickness. Gratitude for your
life brings joy. Egotism and self-pity keep us from joy and keeps us sick which
keeps GOD out of our life. God is our creator, thus GOD is life.

2>   GOD IS TRUTH

The second main aspect of GOD
is truth. GOD is not truthful, but truth itself. As soon as we touch GOD,
relative things disappear. To know the truth about any situation heals it.
Claim divine truth for yourself and you will have self-honesty. If you realize
this clearly you will speak the truth. In dealing with others who are deceitful
and dishonest, claim that divine truth be expressed through them and all the
facts will be brought out.

3>   GOD IS LOVE

GOD is not loving, but love
itself. Of the seven main aspects this is the most important one for us to
practice. There is no condition that enough love won’t heal. Where there is
fear there can not be love. The best way to rid yourself of fear is to realize
divine love. If you love GOD more than your fear you will be healed. Divine
love must be in your own heart and can not operate from the outside. Practice love
every day and watch your thought, your tongue, and your deed, and nothing
contrary to love will find expression there.

4>   GOD IS INTELLIGENCE

When you clearly realize that
this is an intelligent universe it will make a major difference in your life.
There can not be disharmony because all ideas must come together for the common
good. It is especially important to realize GOD is intelligence. Sometimes
people out grow the childish idea that GOD is just a magnified man, then go to
the opposite extreme and think of GOD as a blind force, like gravity or
electricity. This means they have lost all sense of love and fatherhood of GOD.
GOD is not a person in the usual sense of the word, but GOD does have every
quality of personality except its limitations. Whatever you think God is, He
will be. So attribute to GOD every quality of an infinite, intelligent, loving
personality, and GOD will be just that. So we may say that we believe in a
personal GOD. The only limitations of GOD is the limitation of the human mind itself,
and of course this does not affect the nature of GOD.

5> GOD IS SOUL

Soul is the aspect of GOD by
virtue, which He is able to individualize Himself. This word “individualized”
does not mean separateness, as most people believe. You are really an
individualization of GOD. Only GOD can individualize Himself in an infinite
number of units and consciousness because GOD is spirit. So your real self, the
spiritual man, is an individualization of GOD. You are the presence of GOD at
the point where you are. When you are called upon to perform some task or
undertake some responsibility that seems too great for you, realize that you
are one with GOD and that task will become “our business” instead of “my
business.”

6>   GOD IS SPIRIT

We know that GOD is spirit,
but what does that mean? Spirit is that which can not be destroyed or damaged.
It is the opposite of matter. Matter wears out, but Spirit does not because
Spirit is substance. You are spirit. Spirit can not die and was never born.
Your true self was never born and will never die. You are eternal, divine,
un-changing spirit, in your true nature. The whole universe is a spiritual
creation. Reality is an independent spiritual world, unconditioned by the
apparent world of sense - and this is substance.

7>   GOD IS PRINCIPLE

What does the word principle
mean? Consider these principles…”water seeks its own level.”  This is a principle. “The angles of a
triangle always add up to 180 degrees.” Another principle. These principles
were true a billion years ago and will be true a billion years from now. Prayer
is answered because GOD is principle, eternally manifest in the same way. When
we pray rightly we bring ourselves into harmony with His Law of Being. Prayer
does not ask GOD to change the laws for our temporary convenience, but it turns
us into Divine principle. If GOD were to make exceptions because we were in
great difficulties we would never know where we stand. If the law of gravity
were occasionally suspended without motive, say, because a very important man
had fallen off the roof, The world, as we know it would not exist. GOD is GOD
and will be GOD, no matter what we want Him to do for us. Remember the
principle, it is always GOD’s will, and it will always be GOD’s will, as it was
a billion years ago and as it will be a billion years from now.
