I must be the slowest learner in A.A....

I just got finished reading the format for a meeting I go to every week and I just realized where the Lords Prayer comes from. Its from the other Big Book, The Bible. Specifically Matthew.

Is this one of A.A. most kept secrets?

I've heard that prayer thousands of times and never connected the dots. I am so glad that a few of us are on this journey together and are studying the other Big Book. on Wednesdays. WOW. It's amazing.

o  The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy, kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Power, the Kingdom, and the Glory. Forever and ever. Amen. ©From the Gospel of Matthew; Reprinted with permission from God

Really, the perfect

Really, the perfect prayer.

Instruction DIRECTLY from God on how to best pray to Him.

I have never really been able to get deeply into the "Sermon on the Mount" by Emmitt Fox, save for the section at the end called "The Lord's Prayer" in which Fox absolutely brings calrity to what that prayer is and what is means.

After reading that, the prayer has never sounded the same to me again in meetings or in church.

I highly recommend it.

Have a blessed day,

Armen
