(reading from the Big Book) "…you must remember that your real reliance is always upon Him. He will show you how to create the fellowship you crave. I’ll tell you what - If that’s all true, and they wouldn’t have said it if it wasn’t – I’d be really concerned about knowing Him. I don’t know who He is, but whoever He is that they’re talking about, I’d want to know Him. I’d be walking around saying 'Who is He?' That’s what I’d be doing. I’d be following people who I thought might know Him, or might have some clues as to where He might be. And I’d be saying 'You know that Him guy that they keep talkin’ in the book? Who do think He is? And where can I find Him?' That’s what I’d be concerned about. ‘Cause I need to find Him ‘cause he’s the one who’s going to show me how to create the fellowship I crave. And I need to get a hold of that guy. That’s what I’d be doing in Alcoholics Anonymous. I’d be looking for Him. Or at least hanging out with guys who I thought might know where I could find a trail of Him...

…But it’s just a decision, that’s all the 3^rd step is. You decide how you want to live. Do you want to live a life of fear, and anxiety? Or do you want to live a life of hope? And this is the only life-it’s not like you get to be like ninety years old, you’re on your death bed and said, 'I think I screwed up I’d like to try it again in a different way.' This is your shot!"
