New meeting Starting on August 1, 07 8:30-9:45 ST. FRANCIS MISSION,
Submitted by stevieb on Thu, 07/12/2007 - 22:17.New meeting starting on August 1st at St. Francis Mission 8:30-9:45pm the name of the meeting is called "In the Beginning"
We are going to be studying and discussing the Bible, Emmet Fox's "Sermon on the Mount" and the early readings that they were reading while they were getting ready to write the Big Book. And we will be reading the Big Book.
See any similarities....?

James 5:14-16- (14)-Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. (15)-And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. (16)-Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Submitted by Ernie Richardson on Thu, 07/12/2007 - 09:14.For those of you who are interested, Stevie B. is starting a recovery bible group that will meet at St. Francis Mission around the first week in August at 8:30 in the evening. This is exactly what Russell was talking about at the Retreat. It's the "One Thing" that the first 100 had that was basically different from present day A.A., a working knowledge of the bible. I plan on learning as much as I can from both this group as well as the guidance of the many men that have committed to this "new " journey.
Facing temptation, instincts run wild and becoming the men God wants us to be...

"...we then look at Step Six. We have emphasized willingness as being indispensable. Are we now ready to let God remove from us all the things which we have admitted are objectionable? Can He now take them all-every one? (There He is again!) If we still cling to something we will not let go, we ask God to help us be willing."
